Some methodological advice
Reader, since you are reading this, will you please, please spread the message that no, the VSM is *not* an individual-level questionnaire like the ones they use in marketing? The questions, when analysed across individuals, do not lead to any meaningful results; at least they were not designed for that. They should be used on group averages, using matched cross-cultural samples; see for instance the VSM 2013 manual. It makes the study harder because you need to compare countries, not individuals; but remember: the harder the battle, the sweeter the victory.
