Itim, institute for training in intercultural management, has been a long-term partner. It was founded in 1985 by Bob Waisfisz, together with Geert.  After a change of hands, the new owners used the name "Hofstede Insights" under a license  issued by Geert Hofstede BV in 2017 for using his work, but soon extending that usage to both Hofstede-related work and other lines of activity.

Itim stopped paying license fees as soon as Geert died. Itim's license on Geert Hofstede's work thus expired in October 2020.

As of 2023, the brand "Hofstede Insights" is registered by Geert Hofstede BV, as you can check at EUIPO.  Any usage by persons or companies unaffiliated with Geert Hofstede BV, infringes European brand law.
